    Sammanfattning : Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a chronic autoimmune disease in which the insulin producing β-cells in the pancreatic islets of Langerhans are selectively attacked by the immune system. The β-cells are destroyed resulting in a reduced or eliminated insulin production, which in turn lead to a high blood glucose level. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The non-obese diabetic (NOD) mouse is widely used model Type 1 diabetes (T1D), a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by destruction of the insulin producing β cells in the islets of Langerhans by immune cells.     Sammanfattning : Background and objectives: Most patients (70-80%) with acute ischaemic or haemorrhagic stroke exhibit a high systemic blood pressure (BP) on admission to hospital even in the absence of a history of hypertension (=50%). In matched-control patients admitted to hospital for other acute diseases the proportion of high BP is only 36%. LÄS MER
