    Sammanfattning : Tuberculosis, caused by the pathogenic bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis, is one of the most widespread and deadly infectious diseases today. Treatment of tuberculosis relies on antibiotics that were developed more than 50 years ago. These are now becoming ineffective due to the emergence of antibiotic resistant strains of the bacteria. 3. 3. Structural and functional studies of glycoside hydrolase family 12 enzymes from Trichoderma reesei and other cellulolytic microorganisms

    Författare :Mats Sandgren; Alwyn Jones; Juha Rouvinen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Cellulose is the most abundant organic compound on earth. A wide range of highly specialized microorganisms, have evolved that utilize cellulose as carbon and energy source. Enzymes called cellulases, produced by these cellulolytic organisms, perform the major part of cellulose degradation. LÄS MER
