  1. 1. Early events in T cell development

    Författare :Karin Leandersson; Malmö Cancerimmunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Immunology; pTalpha; gammadelta T cell; alphabeta T cell; development; thymus; thymocyte; serology; transplantation; Immunologi; serologi;

    Sammanfattning : T cells constitute a heterogenous population of lymphocytes. Their unifying property is that they express surface bound antigen-receptors, called T cell receptors (TCRs). The TCR is a heterodimer composed of either TCRalpha and beta chain proteins (alphabeta TCR) or gamma and delta chain proteins (gammadelta TCR). LÄS MER

  2. 2. Extrathymic T cell receptor gene rearrangement in human alimentary tract

    Författare :Anna Bas; Marie-Louise Hammarström; Sten Hammarström; Adrian Hayday; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Immunology; T cell maturation; recombination activating gene; preTα; human intestinal mucosa; intraepithelial lymphocytes; lamina propria lymphocytes; nasopharyngeal tonsil; Immunologi; Immunology; Immunologi; immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : T lymphocytes regulate the initiation, duration, and magnitude of adaptive immune responses and function as effector cells in cell mediated immunity. To become immunologically competent they must generate functional antigen receptors. This process takes place in the thymus and requires somatic recombination of T cell receptor (TCR) genes. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Thymic Stroma and T Cell Development. Impacts of Retinoic Acid Signaling

    Författare :Kerstin Wendland; Slemhinnans immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Thymus; Thymic epithelial cells; Retinoic acid; T cell development; Stromal Cells;

    Sammanfattning : The development of functionally competent, self-tolerant T cells in the thymus is an essential prerequisite for the formation of adaptive immune responses against foreign pathogens. Thymic epithelial cells (TECs) form specialized stromal microenvironments in the cortex (cTEC) and medulla (mTEC) of the thymus that support all stages of T cell development, from the entry of thymocyte progenitors to the exit of mature naive T cells. 4. 4. Genetic Characterization of Pediatric T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

    Författare :Kristina Karrman; Avdelningen för klinisk genetik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; leukmia; genetic characterization; pediatric;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of my thesis has been to characterize genetically pediatric T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL). Articles I and II focus on molecular characterization of translocations involving T-cell receptor (TCR) loci. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Genetic Loci Contributing to Spontaneous Autoimmune Diabetes

    Författare :Jessica Fuller; Celiaki och diabetes; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Genetics; Lymphopenia; BB Rat; Type 1 Diabetes; T Cell Receptor; Autoimmunity; Gimap;

    Sammanfattning : Background and Aims: Spontaneous type 1 diabetes (T1D) in the BioBreeding (BB) rat mimics human T1D as the rats experience weight loss, polydipsia, polyuria, ketoacidosis, onset during puberty and insulin-dependency within a day after diagnosis. Because the DP rat develops T1D spontaneously, it is a prime laboratory animal for dissecting the genetics of T1D susceptibility without the need for external manipulation. LÄS MER
