  1. 6. p53 and neoplastic progression in Barrett's esophagus

    Författare :Stig Ramel; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Barrett s esophagus; neoplastic progression; flow cytometry; p53 gene; p53protein; 17p allelic loss; p53 mutations; S phase fractions; aneuploidy; SV 40 large T antigen; elastase-SV 40 T antigen transgenic mice.;

    Sammanfattning : Barrett's esophagus is a condition in which the normal squamous epithelium is replaced by columnar epithelium as a response to acid reflux. It develops as a complication in 10-20% of patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Effects of polyomavirus T antigens on cellular signal transduction pathways

    Författare :Karin Söderbärg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Medical Virology; medicinsk virologi;

    Sammanfattning : The early viral proteins, the tumor (T) antigens, of mouse polyomavirus,stimulate cell growth by interaction with cellular growth regulating proteins.The viral interference with cellular growth regulation may, eventually, alsoresult in effects on cellular apoptosis (programmed cell death) mechanisms. 3. 8. Activity of tumor-antigens in polyomavirus replication

    Författare :Hongyun Li; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biochemistry; Tumor-Antigens; DNA Replication; Cell-cycle; Phosphorylation; J-domain; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Medical Virology; medicinsk virologi;

    Sammanfattning : Polyomavirus replication needs an active cell environment, and the viral DNA replication is cell cycle regulated. Tumor antigens (T-antigens) of mouse polyomavirus, especially large T-antigen, are necessary for the replication. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Connecting viral oncoproteins to microRNA, autophagy and metabolism in Merkel cell carcinoma

    Författare :Satendra Kumar; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is an aggressive type of skin cancer. Around 80% of MCCs harbor an integrated Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) genome with a mutation in the large T antigen (LT) gene, leading to expression of truncated LT. It is evident that the viral truncated LT and small T antigen (sT) play important roles in MCC tumorigenesis. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Dissecting the roles of viral T-antigens in Merkel cell carcinoma

    Författare :Jiwei Gao; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is a rare but aggressive form of skin malignancy with increasing incidence. Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) is associated with ~80% of MCCs, and a minority is caused by ultra-violet (UV)-induced DNA damage. The MCPyV T-antigens are major drivers for MCC oncogenesis. LÄS MER
