  1. 1. T-cell responses to Helicobacter pylori in humans and a possible role of regulatory T cells

    Författare :Anna Lundgren; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Helicobacter pylori; mucosal immunology; stomach; duodenum; asymptomatic; duodenal ulcer; gastric adenocarcinoma; T cells; regulatory T cells; dendritic cells; T-cell recruitment;

    Sammanfattning : Helicobacter pylori colonize the stomach and areas of gastric metaplasia in the duodenum. The bacteria induce both local and systemic immune responses, but despite this, the infection normally persists for life and causes chronic gastritis in all infected subjects and peptic ulcers or gastric cancer in 10-20% of infected individuals. 2. 2. Connecting Systemic RNAi to the Endomembrane System in Caenorhabditis elegans

    Författare :Benjamin T. Holmgren; Andrea Hinas; Gerhart Wagner; Peter Brodersen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Systemic RNAi; RNAi inheritance; Endomembrane system; Late endosome; SID-5; SEC-22; SYX-6; C12D8.1; RNA; Biology with specialization in Molecular Cell Biology; Biologi med inriktning mot molekylär cellbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : RNA interference (RNAi) is a gene regulation mechanism conserved among eukaryotes. To silence gene expression, RNAi relies on a short single-stranded guide RNA to steer the RNA-induced Silencing Complex (RISC) to mRNAs with guide strand-complementary sequences. RNAi is a highly membrane-associated process. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Defining the role of CD47 and SIRPα in murine B cell homeostasis

    Författare :Shrikant S Kolan; Per-Arne Oldenborg; Mikael Karlsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; B cells; CD47; SIRPα; Follicular B cell; Marginal zone macrophages; immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : B cell development is a highly organized process, which commences in the fetal liver during embryogenesis and in the bone marrow (BM) after birth. Surface IgM+ immature B cells emigrate from the BM via the blood stream to the spleen and finally differentiate into conventional mature follicular B (FoB) cells and marginal zone (MZ) B cells. 4. 4. CD19-targeting CAR T Cells for Treatment of B Cell Malignancies : From Bench to Bedside

    Författare :Hannah Karlsson; Angelica Loskog; Karl-Johan Malmberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; chimeric antigen receptors; CAR T cells; T cell therapy; immunotherapy; CD19; Bcl-2 family inhibitors; B cell malignancies; Klinisk immunologi; Clinical Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Immunotherapy for cancer is a young research field progressing at high speed. The first chimera of an antibody and a signaling chain was designed by Zelig Eshhar and was later further developed to enhance existing T cell therapy by combining a single-chain fragment of an antibody with the CD3 zeta chain of the TCR complex. 5. 5. Mechanisms of therapy resistance in acute lymphoblastic leukemia

    Författare :Kinjal Shah; Avdelningen för translationell cancerforskning; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; ALL; B-ALL; T-ALL; dexamethasone; FLT3; Signaling pathways; BCL2; resistance; PLK1; synergy;

    Sammanfattning : Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a highly aggressive pediatric cancer that can affect both B cells and T cells. The advent of new therapies has increased the cure rates for both B-ALL and T-ALL patients. However, some patients still experience relapse with a variable response to the treatment and display poor survival. LÄS MER
