  1. 1. Origin and Lifestyles of early Brachiopods and other Lophotrochozoans : Insights from the Chengjiang and Guanshan Fossil-Lagerstätten

    Författare :Haizhou Wang; Lars E. Holmer; Zhifei Zhang; Michael Streng; David A.T. Harper; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cambrian Explosion; Chengjiang; Guanshan; Lagerstätten; Lophotrochozoa; Brachiopoda; Earth Science with specialization in Historical Geology and Palaeontology; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot historisk geologi och paleontologi;

    Sammanfattning : One of the great unsolved evolutionary questions concerns the origin and phylogeny of the major animal phyla that appeared in the fossil record more than 540 million years ago, during the Cambrian explosion. Although new molecular information has been very useful, we still have little understanding about the origin of most of the phyla of bilaterians living today. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Mind & Well-being : The relationships between personality and health related pathology

    Författare :Markus J. T. de Ruijter; Helgi B. Schiöth; Gull Rukh; Hui Xin Wang; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; personality; epidemiology; cardiovascular disease; well-being; job satisfaction; autism spectrum disorder; animal models;

    Sammanfattning : The study of the associations between personality, lifestyle and health related pathology has revealed important associations. These include associations with physical health such as the onset of cardiovascular disease, but also with mental and emotional health such as depression or life satisfaction. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Characterization of the Intestinal Microbiota by DNA-Based Methods

    Författare :Mei Wang; Livsmedelsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; mycology; Mikrobiologi; bakteriologi; virologi; mykologi; bacteriology; virology; Microbiology; Ulcerative colitis; T-RFLP; 16S rRNA; Brachyspira; Microbiota; Bacterial diversity; Bacterial translocation; Translocating bacteria;

    Sammanfattning : The intestinal flora and the bacteria found in the extraintestinal sites were studied in liver injury rats, with or without Lactobacillus plantarum 299v pre-treatment. The dominating intestinal flora and translocating bacteria were typed by RAPD and identified by 16S rDNA sequencing. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Natural killer T (NKT) lymphocytes regulate of intestinal tumor immunity

    Författare :Ying Wang; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NKT lymphocyte; intestinal tumor; CD1d; colrectal cancer; immunoregulation; α-gagactosylceramide;

    Sammanfattning : CD1d-restricted natural killer T (NKT) lymphocytes are known as potent early regulatory cells of immune responses, acting as a bridge between innate and adaptive immunity. While invariant NKT (iNKT) cells have a protective role in many tumor models, their ability to promote intestinal inflammation, known to enhance intestinal cancer, raised the question if they would be protective in intestinal tumor development. 5. 5. CTLA-4 expression, regulation and associations in autoimmune myasthenia gravis

    Författare :XiongBiao Wang; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Cytotoxic-T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 CTLA-4 ; Myasthenia gravis MG ; Immune inhibitory receptor; Autoimmune disease; Genetic polymorphism.;

    Sammanfattning : Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a neuromuscular disease with muscle weakness due to an autoimmune attack against the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) on the skeletal muscle endplate. Cytotoxic-T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA-4) plays a global inhibitory role in the immune system and has a crucial role in autoimmunity. LÄS MER
