1. Expression and regulation of CCL25 and its role in T cell localization to and function within the small intestine
Sammanfattning : Earlier studies have demonstrated an important role for the chemokine CCL25, and its receptor CCR9, in the generation of the small intestinal lymphocyte compartment. The work in this thesis was aimed at determining how CCL25 is regulated within the small intestinal mucosa, and what potential role it plays in T cell localization to and function within this site. 2. Multi-sightline neutron emission spectroscopy of D and T fusion plasmas at JET
Sammanfattning : An analysis of the neutron emission from a fusion plasma can be used to determine plasma properties and diagnose fusion performance. In this thesis, several analysis methods for neutron spectroscopy are presented and applied to data from the experimental fusion device JET. LÄS MER
3. Fatigue Strength of Friction Stir Welded Joints in Aluminium
Sammanfattning : Solid state Friction stir welding (FSW) is of major interest in the welding of aluminium since it improves the joint properties. Many applications where Al-alloys are used are subject to varying load conditions, making fatigue failure a critical issue. LÄS MER
4. Fuel ion densities and distributions in fusion plasmas : Modeling and analysis for neutron emission spectrometry
Sammanfattning : Neutrons produced in fusion reactions in a magnetically confined plasma carry information about the distributions and densities of the fuel ions in the plasma. This thesis presents work where various theoretical models of different fuel ion distributions in the plasma are used to calculate modeled components of the neutron energy spectrum. LÄS MER
5. Neutron Emission Spectrometry for Fusion Reactor Diagnosis : Method Development and Data Analysis
Sammanfattning : It is possible to obtain information about various properties of the fuel ions deuterium (D) and tritium (T) in a fusion plasma by measuring the neutron emission from the plasma. Neutrons are produced in fusion reactions between the fuel ions, which means that the intensity and energy spectrum of the emitted neutrons are related to the densities and velocity distributions of these ions.
