  1. 1. Cancer Immunotherapy : Evolving Oncolytic viruses and CAR T-cells

    Författare :Mohanraj Ramachandran; Magnus Essand; Di Yu; Justyna Leja-Jarblad; Richard Vile; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Oncolytic virus; Adenovirus; Semliki Forest virus; Cancer immunology; Chimeric antigen receptor T-cells; Immunologi; Immunology; Oncology; Onkologi; Biology with specialization in Molecular Biotechnology; Biologi med inriktning mot molekylär bioteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In the last decade cancer immunotherapy has taken huge strides forward from bench to bedside and being approved as drugs. Cancer immunotherapy harnesses the power of patient’s own immune system to fight cancer. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Immunological mechanisms involved in seasonal pollen allergy and allergen-specific immunotherapy

    Författare :Robert Movérare; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Medical sciences; Allergy; birch pollen; IFN-g; IgE; IgG; IgG4; IL-4; IL-5; IL-10; IL-13; immunotherapy; PBMC; rush immunotherapy; MEDICIN OCH VÅRD; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; lungmedicin; Lung Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Th1/Th2-like T-cell responses were studied by stimulating peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) with allergens or antigens followed by restimulation with mitogens to induce high cytokine synthesis. Allergen-stimulation in vitro induced Th2-skewed cytokine synthesis by PBMCs from birch-pollen-allergic patients. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Towards Immunotherapy of Midgut Carcinoid Tumors

    Författare :Sofia Vikman; Thomas Tötterman; Valeria Giandomenico; Bengt Widegren; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Immunology; midgut carcinoid; gene expression; immunotherapy; tumor antigen; VMAT-1; T cell; HLA-A*0201-binding peptide; IFNγ; regulatory T cell; Immunologi;

    Sammanfattning : Classical midgut carcinoids belong to neuroendocrine tumors of the gastroenteropancreatic tract (GEP-NETs) and are associated with serotonin overproduction. The term midgut is derived from the tumors’ embryological site of origin: enterochromaffin cells in the lower jejunum, ileum, caecum and the ascending colon. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Nitric Oxide Regulation during Anti-tumor Immunotherapy

    Författare :Wiaam Badn; Neurokirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; transplantation; Immunologi; serology; Immunology; Medicin människa och djur ; immunotherapy; Medicine human and vertebrates ; immunosuppression; PGE2; Nitric oxide; serologi;

    Sammanfattning : During tumor progression a strong immunosuppression is developed and is believed to be the major reason why immunotherapy fails. This suppression is induced in response to factors produced from tumor cells, but can also be induced after immunotherapy. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Combined chemotherapy and immunotherapy against experimental malignant brain tumors

    Författare :Sara Fritzell; Neurokirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cisplatin; Glioma; GM-CSF; IFN-gamma; IL-7; Immunotherapy; Intratumoral chemotherapy; Temozolomide;

    Sammanfattning : Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most common and aggressive primary malignant brain tumor in adults. Despite standard treatment including surgery, radiotherapy and temozolomide (TMZ)-based chemotherapy, the prognosis for GBM patients is dismal, and there is a need for novel treatments. LÄS MER
