16. Scanning Tunnelling Microscopy and Spectroscopy of Adsorbates on Aluminium and Silicon
Sammanfattning : The main topic of this thesis is the investigation of atomic andmolecular adsorbates on single crystal surfaces of silicon and aluminiumusing the techniques of scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM) andspectroscopy (STS). The emphasis has been to use atomic-resolutionspectroscopy and imaging to determine the relationship between thesurfaces' geometric and electronic structures. LÄS MER
17. Synchrotron-based In Situ Electron Spectroscopy Applied to Oxide Formation and Catalysis
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, in situ ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy has been used to address chemical reactions on surfaces. The presented work aims at the investigation of the relation between pressure and adsorbate surface structures during catalytic reactions. LÄS MER
18. Nano- and Micro-sized Molecularly Imprinted Polymer Particles on Solid Surfaces
Sammanfattning : Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are artificial receptors made by imprinting template molecules in a polymer matrix followed by their removal through washing to obtain a specific and selective template cavities. This property of the MIPs have made them a very efficient material for diverse applications such as chromatography, purification, drug sensing, etc. LÄS MER
19. Nuclear motion in molecular ions studied with synchrotron radiation and multicoincidence momentum imaging spectrometry
Sammanfattning : A momentum imaging spectrometer optimized for photoionization experiments with synchrotron radiation was built in 2008. The spectrometer is equipped with an electrostatic lens, that focuses the charged dissociation products on to a position-sensitive multi-hit delay line anode. LÄS MER
20. Studies of Molecular and Cluster Fragmentation Using Synchrotron Radiation: Measurements and Models
Sammanfattning : A new spectrometer for studying photoinduced fragmentation has been designed and commissioned. The instrument produces a detailed view of the energy and angular emission of fragments, which in the case of small molecules can be related to their geometry at the moment of dissociation. LÄS MER
