  1. 1. Laboratory Soft X-Ray Cryo Microscopy: Source, System and Bio Applications

    Författare :Emelie Fogelqvist; Hans Hertz; David Attwood; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; X-ray microscopy; X-ray optics; Instrumentation; Laser plasma; Cryofixation; Tomography; Tomographic reconstruction; Autophagy; Immune synapse; Physics; Fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Soft x-ray microscopes routinely perform high-resolution 3D imaging of biological cells in their near-native environment with short exposure times at synchrotron radiation facilities. Some laboratory-sized microscopes are aiming to make this imaging technique more accessible to a wider scientific community. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Imaging of tissue degeneration in knee osteoarthritis using magnetic resonance and synchrotron radiation

    Författare :Emma Einarsson; Malmö Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Magnetic resonance imaging MRI ; osteoarthritis OA ; Meniscus; Chemical Exchange Saturation Transfer CEST ; Relaxation time; Synchrotron radiation X-ray tomographic microscopy;

    Sammanfattning : Osteoarthritis (OA) is a very common disease, especially in the knee. It is characterized by the breakdown of articular cartilage but involves all parts of the joint. OA is usually diagnosed at a late stage when the articular cartilage has begun to disappear. What happens before these macroscopic alterations is to alarge extent unknown. LÄS MER

  3. 3. 3D nano-tomography using coherent X-rays

    Författare :Maik Kahnt; Lunds universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ptychography; Tomography; Phase reconstruction; X-ray microscopy;

    Sammanfattning : X-rays allow to non-destructively investigate biological, chemical or physical processes at the nano-scale. Their high penetration depth in matter allows to investigate samples even inside sample environments, which would be difficult with complementary methods such as transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
