  1. 1. Sustainable Interactions : Studies in the Design of Energy Awareness Artefacts

    Författare :Loove Broms; Magnus Bång; Henrik Eriksson; Daniel Fällman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Interaction design; energy awareness; sustainability; domestication; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a collection of experimental designs that approach the problem of growing electricity consumption in homes. From the perspective of design, the intention has been to critically explore the design space of energy awareness artefacts to reinstate awareness of energy use in everyday practice. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Problematizing Sustainable ICT

    Författare :Per Fors; Thomas Taro Lennerfors; Marcus Lindahl; Saara Taalas; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Sustainable ICT; Sustainable human-computer interaction; Green IT; Problematization; Sustainable entrepreneurship; Engineering Science with specialization in industrial engineering and management; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot industriell teknik;

    Sammanfattning : How should we understand the relationship between information and communication technology (ICT) and sustainability? Generally, it is assumed that while ICT products contribute to many environmental and social problems as they are produced and disposed of, the potential of using ICT to achieve a more sustainable society is immense. However, despite the fact that such a discourse is favored not only in the industrial but also in the political and academic spheres, we have yet to see this presumed sustainability-related potential of ICT fully exploited. 3. 3. Designing for shared energy responsibility

    Författare :Hanna Hasselqvist; Cristian M Bogdan; Elina Eriksson; Ylva Fernaeus; Mike Hazas; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; human-computer interaction; design; sustainability; practices; energy; mobility; Human-computer Interaction; Människa-datorinteraktion;

    Sammanfattning : A significant part of the world’s carbon emissions is related to energy use for housing and personal transport, and there are many efforts to make this energy use more sustainable. In the field of Sustainable Human-Computer Interaction, there has been a great interest in exploring how interactive systems can be used to influence people’s energy use, often with a focus on providing information and encouraging energy users to change their behaviours. 4. 4. Designing with care : Self-centered research for interaction design otherwise

    Författare :Karey Helms; Ylva Fernaeus; Airi Lampinen; Anna Ståhl; Laura Forlano; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; interaction design; care; care ethics; posthuman; posthuman feminism; more-than-human; design theory; research program; design otherwise; first-person; autotheory; Människa-datorinteraktion; Human-computer Interaction;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation is about the research program designing with care as a pathway towards interaction design otherwise amid a world in crisis. Considering how established ways of doing interaction design will change involves recognizing the role of digital materials in social injustice and systemic inequality. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Exploring the intersection of design, reflection and sustainable food shopping practices : The case of the EcoPanel

    Författare :Ulrica Bohné; Cecilia Katzeff; Minna Räsänen; Teo Enlund; Pelle Ehn; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Design; reflection; sustainable food shopping practices; social practice theory; research through design; web application prototype; Människa-datorinteraktion; Human-computer Interaction;

    Sammanfattning : Food production has been shown to have considerable negative impacts on the environment. A means to reduce this is to choose organic products when shopping for food. LÄS MER
