  1. 16. Active magnetoplasmonics for nanoscale distances sensing

    Författare :Irina Zubritskaya; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cobalt; magnetoplasmonics; plasmon ruler; magneto-optical Kerr effect MOKE ; nickel; dimer; localized surface plasmon resonance;

    Sammanfattning : Magnetoplasmonics is an emerging field within nano-photonics that operates with the combination of propagating or localized surface plasmons and magnetism. Active and adaptive magnetoplasmonic components that are capable of controlling light on the nanoscale with external weak magnetic fields are envisioned to push the development of integrated photonic circuits, high-density data storage, or the advanced schemes for bio- and chemo-sensing. 2. 17. Optical Imaging and Spectroscopy of Metal Nanostructures

    Författare :Juris Prikulis; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nanoparticles; surface plasmon resonance; surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy; near-field optical microscopy; optical tweezers;

    Sammanfattning : Noble metal structures with size in the sub 100 nm range exhibit extraordinary optical properties due to collective oscillations of conduction electrons, the surface plasmon resonances (SPR). The most remarkable feature of these structures is the ability to redistribute electromagnetic radiation and concentrate strong fields near the surface. LÄS MER

    Författare :Irina Zubritskaya; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Photonics; magnetoplasmonics; magneto-optics; magneto-optical Kerr effect MOKE ; plasmon ruler; nickel; cobalt; gold; silicon; localized surface plasmon resonance; dimer; trimer; chiroptics; chiral transmission; 2D nanoantennas; dynamic tuning; metal-dielectric; 3D nanoantennas; metasurface; magnetic modulation; perpendicular magnetic anisotropy.;

    Sammanfattning : Materials that provide real-time control of the fundamental properties of light at visible and near-infrared frequencies enable the essential components for future optical devices. Metal nanostructures that couple electromagnetic (EM) radiation on a sub-wavelength length scale to free electrons, forming propagating or localized surface plasmons, provide many exciting functionalities due to their ability to manipulate light via the local EM field shaping and enhancement. 5. 20. Nanoparticle Plasmons in Classic and Novel Materials - Fundamentals and Hydrogen Sensing

    Författare :Christoph Langhammer; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nanoparticle; hydrogen storage; aluminum; hydrogen sensing; localized surface plasmon resonance; platinum; nanostructure; palladium; nanoparticle plasmon;

    Sammanfattning : The interaction of light with sub-wavelength noble metal nanoparticles and nanostructures has developed into one of the most vibrant themes of nanoscience during the past decade. The optical properties of metal nanoparticles are dominated by so-called nanoparticle plasmons or localized surface plasmon resonances (LSPR). LÄS MER
