  1. 1. Atomic and Electronic Structure of III-V Semiconductor Surfaces

    Författare :Örjan Olsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; semiconductor; GaAs; photoelectron; scanning tunneling microscopy; valence band; core level; reconstruction; InAs; surface; InSb;

    Sammanfattning : The atomic and electronic structure of clean and Cs-perturbed III-V semiconductors was studied by angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (ARPES), surface core level spectroscopy (SCLS), and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). The work can be divided into three parts, dealing with low-index sur-faces, high-index surfaces, and special features of InAs. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Alkali Metal Adsorption on Metals Studied by Hiqh Resolution Core Level Spectroscopy and Low Energy Electron Diffraction

    Författare :Edvin Lundgren; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Low Energy Electron Diffraction; Physics; Core Level Spectroscopy; Surface Structures Photoelectron Emission; Single Crystal Surfaces; Alkali Adsorption; Aluminium; Metals; Alkali Metals; Fysik; LEED.; Fysicumarkivet A:1996:Lundgren;

    Sammanfattning : Alkali metal adsorption on metals is studied by High Resolution Core Level Spectroscopy (HRCLS) and Low Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED). The studies can be divided into two parts: adsorption of alkali multilayers and alkali adsorption in the submonolayer regime. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Sustainable Surface Functionalization of Lightweight Materials : Cerium Oxide Nanoparticles Replacing Chromium in Anodic Coatings and Carbon Nanomaterials for Lightning Strike Protection

    Författare :Thirza Poot; Kajsa Uvdal; Linnéa Selegård; Zhang-Jun Hu; Mats Eriksson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Aviation accounts for 2-3% of the carbon dioxide emitted globally. One way to reduce emissions is to develop and introduce sustainable, functional, lightweight materials and coatings that increase the lifetime and fuel efficiency of aircraft. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Surface structure and catalytic activity of Pd and Fe oxide surfaces and thin films

    Författare :Mikhail Shipilin; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Surface X-ray diffraction SXRD ; Heterogeneous catalysis; Pd; PdO; Fe; FeO; Thin films; Fysicumarkivet A:2016:Shipilin;

    Sammanfattning : The present work is devoted to atomic scale structural studies of the surfaces of model heterogeneous catalysts relevant to oxidation reactions. A novel approach using high-energy surface X-ray diffraction combined with mass-spectrometry measurements is employed to perform in situ structural characterization of Pd(100) and Pd(553) single crystal surfaces acting as catalysts in the process of CO oxidation under semirealistic conditions.
