26. Quantum Correlations and Temperature Fluctuations in Nanoscale Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses two different topics related to the physics of nanoscale systems. The first topic concerns quantum correlations and entanglement between electrons in solid-state systems, with a focus on how to generate electronic orbital entanglement on a sub-decoherence time scale and how to achieve experimentally more feasible entanglement detection schemes. 27. Low-Power HEMT LNAs for Quantum Computing
Sammanfattning : The rapid development of quantum computing technology predicts much more qubits to handle in the detection, readout, and amplification of qubits than in today's system. Due to the limited cooling capability of the dilution refrigerator, the current low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) are in need of ten to hundred times reduced dc power consumption yet with lowest noise temperature at qubit readout frequencies, typcially 4-12 GHz. 28. Measurement Back-Action and Photon Detection in Microwave Quantum Optics
Sammanfattning : In quantum optics, the interaction between atoms and photons is studied. In recent years, microwave quantum optics with superconducting circuits has emerged as an important tool for fundamental quantum optics experiments, and also as a promising way for implementing quantum computation. 29. III-V Devices for Emerging Electronic Applications
Sammanfattning : Today’s digitalized society relies on the advancement of silicon (Si) Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) technology, but the limitations of down-scaling and the rapidly increasing demand for added functionality that is not easily achieved in Si, have pushed efforts to monolithically 3D-integrate III-V devices above the Si-CMOS technology. In addition, the demand for increased computational power and handling of vast amounts of data is rapidly increasing. LÄS MER
30. Numerical solutions to non-linear inhomogeneous problems in Superconductivity : From sphalerons to multi-band boundary states and spontaneous magnetic fields
Sammanfattning : This thesis is a compilation of theoretical works focused on simulating and studying open questions regarding single and multiband superconductivity. In the last decades, with the discovery of multiband superconductors, the spectrum of potential applications has greatly widened. LÄS MER
