1. Chemical and isotopic records of polycyclic histories in a subducted continental crust (Dora-Maira Massif, Western Alps)
Sammanfattning : At convergent plate margin, part of the continental crust can be subducted and exhumed. During continental subduction a pre-existing crust is reworked. Remnants of an older orogen are recycled and subjected to (ultra)-high-pressure metamorphism. LÄS MER
2. Magma-Crust Interaction at Subduction Zone Volcanoes
Sammanfattning : The focus of this work is magma-crust interaction processes and associated crustal volatile release in subduction zone volcanoes, drawing on rock, mineral, and gas geochemistry as well as experimental petrology. Understanding the multitude of differentiation processes that modify an original magma during ascent to the surface is vital to unravel the contributions of the various sources that contribute to the final magmas erupted at volcanoes. 4. Pressure, temperature and time constraints on tectonic models for southwestern Sweden
Sammanfattning : In this work, a number of key localities have been investigated in detail in order to provide precise constraints on models for the tectonic evolution of southern Sweden. The new data presented in this thesis show that there are large differences in terms of pre-Sveconorwegian tectonic evolution between the Eastern and Median-Western Segments situated on either side of the Mylonite Zone, a major shear zone as well as a structural and lithological boundary. 5. The impact of loading-induced stress variation on the seismicity of active faults
Sammanfattning : Surface loads such as the ocean, atmosphere, and continental water, constantly modify the stress field of the Earth’s crust. Most earthquakes occur at tectonic plate boundaries and such stress perturbations on the active faults at the plate boundaries may trigger earthquakes. LÄS MER
