  1. 26. Optical Monitoring of Cerebral Microcirculation

    Författare :Peter Rejmstad; Karin Wårdell; Göran Salerud; Neda Haj-Hosseini; Kerstin Ramser; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; optical monitoring; cerebral microcirculation; diffuse reflectance spectroswcopy DRS ; laser Doppler flowmetry LDF ;

    Sammanfattning : The cerebral microcirculation consists of a complex network of small blood vessels that support nerve cells with oxygen and nutrition. The blood flow and oxygen delivery in the microcirculatory blood vessels are regulated through mechanisms which may be influenced or impaired by disease or brain damage resulting from conditions such as brain tumors, traumatic brain injury or subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). 2. 27. Acute Symptomatic Seizure : Clinical and Experimental Studies

    Författare :Imad Halawa; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Epilepsy is defined as a condition with recurrent unprovoked seizures. When seizures are believed to be provoked they fall into another category of situation related seizures, i.e. acute symptomatic seizures (ASS). LÄS MER

  3. 28. Vascular effects of neuropeptides and UDP-β-S and alterations after stroke

    Författare :André Erdling; Neurokirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to investigate the changes in vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) and calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP) and P2Y6-mediated signaling following experimental subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and transient middle cerebral artery occlusion (tMCAO). VIP and CGRP are among the most powerful vasodilators known to man while P2Y6 mediates strong vasoconstriction in cerebral blood vessels. LÄS MER

  4. 29. Dual-energy imaging in stroke : feasibility of dual-layer detector cone-beam computed tomography

    Författare :Fredrik Ståhl; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) is increasingly available and used in the standard diagnostic setting of ischemic stroke patients. For stroke patients with suspected large vessel occlusion, cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) in the interventional suite could be an alternative to CT to shorten door to thrombectomy time. LÄS MER
