1. Numerical Modelling and Analysis of Orthogonal Metal Cutting
Sammanfattning : Most components in use in our society have undergone a machining process at some stage within its manufacturing cycle. As a result, the economics of the machining process plays an important role in the manufacturing costs. LÄS MER
2. A study on contact fatigue mechanisms
Sammanfattning : Surfaces subjected to rolling and sliding contacts maysuffer from contact fatigue. This thesisdeals with solidmechanic aspects of contact fatigue including the descriptionand verificationof explaining mechanisms. The new mechanism forsurface initiated contact fatigue is basedon tensile surfacestresses from local asperity contacts. LÄS MER
3. Microstructure and wear mechanisms of textured CVD alumina and titanium carbonitride coatings
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to find the reasons behind how the wear performance of hard coatings produced by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) is influenced by their texture, as this is today not fully known. Therefore, differently textured coatings were synthesized, and subsequently analyzed both before and after specially designed machining tests. LÄS MER
4. Cyclic behaviour of carburized steel
Sammanfattning : The fatigue properties of carburized low alloyed steel have been investigated. The tests in axial fatigue showed that surface carbon below 0.8% and low amounts of retained austenite are advantageous. In bending fatigue the effects of tempering and of surface condition were studied. LÄS MER
5. Structural evolution of two ore-bearing Palaeoproterozoic metasupracrustal belts in the Kiruna area, Northwestern Fennoscandian Shield
Sammanfattning : In this project, two key study areas in the northwestern Fennoscandian Shield are under investigation. The “Western supracrustal belt” and “Central Kiruna area” are both located along lithotectonically comparable Rhyacian-Orosirian metasupracrustal belts and both areas are characterized by iron oxide-apatite (IOA) and iron oxide-copper-gold (IOCG)-style mineralizations and related hydrothermal alterations.
