    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Volume; Minimization criterion; Determinant; Rank deficient matrix; Reduced rank regression; System identification; Rank reduction; Volume minimization; General algorithm; Handwritten digit classification; Tensors; Higher order singular value decomposition; Tensor approximation; Least squares; Tucker model; Multilinear algebra; Notation; Contraction; Tensor matricization; Newton s method; Grassmann manifolds; Product manifolds; Quasi-Newton algorithms; BFGS and L-BFGS; Symmetric tensor approximation; Local intrinsic coordinates; Global embedded coordinates; ; MATHEMATICS Applied mathematics Numerical analysis; MATEMATIK Tillämpad matematik Numerisk analys;

    Sammanfattning : In many fields of science, engineering, and economics large amounts of data are stored and there is a need to analyze these data in order to extract information for various purposes. Data mining is a general concept involving different tools for performing this kind of analysis. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Feature extraction based on a tensor image description

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Författare :Carl-Fredrik Westin; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [1991]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Image analysis; Representation; Tensor; Hough transform; Möbius strip; Corner detection; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Feature extraction from a tensor based local image representation introduced by Knutsson in [37] is discussed. The tensor representation keeps statements of structure, certainty of statement and energy separate. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Variational Tensor-Based Models for Image Diffusion in Non-Linear Domains

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Författare :Freddie Åström; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2015]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; image diffusion; variational formulation; denoising; tensor; non-linear;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation addresses the problem of adaptive image filtering.Although the topic has a long history in the image processing community, researchers continuously present novel methods to obtain ever better image restoration results. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Nerve diffusion tensor imaging

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Dept of Molecular Medicine and Surgery

    Författare :Mikael Skorpil; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2012]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is a magnetic resonance imaging technique that in vivo visualises random translational movement of water molecules. DTI has inherent difficulties with low signal-to-noise ratio, sensitivity to patient motion, field inhomogeneities and fast T2 relaxation. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Modeling and simulation of paper structure development

    Detta är en avhandling från Sweden : Mid Sweden University

    Författare :Stefan B Lindström; [2008]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Forming; Fibre; Paper; Fibre suspension; Paper structure; Simulation; Rheology;

    Sammanfattning : A numerical tool has been developed for particle-level simulations of fibre suspension flows, particularly forming of the fibre network structure of paper sheets in the paper machine. The model considers inert fibres of various equilibrium shapes, and finite stiffness, interacting with each other through normal, frictional, and lubrication forces, and with the surrounding fluid medium through hydrodynamic forces.
