11. Detection and Structure Elucidation of Drug Metabolites in Biological Samples using HPLC-MS/MS Techniques
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the structure elucidation of drug metabolites in biological samples by the use of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) atmospheric pressure ionization (API) tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS). Due to their different advantages, various mass analyzers have been used in the different experiments. LÄS MER
12. Collision- and photon-induced dynamics of complex molecular ions in the gas phase
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, I report experiments probing collision- and photon-induced molecular dynamics in the gas phase. Excited molecules formed in such interactions may relax by emitting electrons or photons, isomerization or fragmentation. LÄS MER
13. Moleculary imprinted micro- and nanoparticles for cancer associated glycan motifs
Sammanfattning : Sialic acids are an important family of monosaccharides that are typically found as terminal moieties of glycans. Aberrant sialylation has been proven to correlate with various diseases including cancer. Glycosylation analysis is complex due to high diversityof the glycan isomers and their low abundance. LÄS MER
14. 5-Aminolevulinic acid and derivatives thereof : properties, lipid permeability and enzymatic reactions
Sammanfattning : 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) and derivatives thereof are widely usedprodrugs in treatment of pre-malignant skin diseases of the cancer treatmentmethod photodynamic therapy (PDT). The target molecule in 5-ALAPDTis protoporphyrin IX (PpIX), which is synthesized endogenously from5-ALA via the heme pathway in the cell. LÄS MER
15. Modelling precipitation and surface complexation reactions in systems with Goethite, Cu(II) and Oxyanions Containing As(V) or P(V)
Sammanfattning : The aqueous solubility of oxyanion (e.g. phosphates and arsenates), and thereby their mobility, bioavailability (phosphates) and toxicity (arsenates), in soils and sediments is dependent upon their chemical speciation. In complex, multicomponent systems, equilibrium modelling can be a useful tool to predict chemical speciation. LÄS MER
