6. Holographic descriptions of collective modes in strongly correlated media
Sammanfattning : Solving the puzzle of high temperature superconductivity may be one of the most desired scientific breakthroughs of our time, as access to room temperature superconductivity could revolutionize society as we know it. In this thesis, we strive to increase the theoretical understanding of such matter, by studying the phase above, in temperature, the superconducting phase - the "strange metal". LÄS MER
7. Non-Linear Canonical Methods in Strongly Correlated Electron Systems
Sammanfattning : In this thesis some new ideas to perform the analysis of Strongly Correlated Electronic Systems (SCES) are developed. In particular the use of non-linear canonical transformations is considered thoroughly. LÄS MER
8. Theoretical and Computational Studies of Strongly Correlated Electron Systems : Dynamical Mean Field Theory, X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy and Analytical Continuation
Sammanfattning : This thesis encompasses theoretical and computational studies of strongly correlated elec-tron systems. Understanding how electrons in solids interact with each other is of great im-portance for future technology and other applications. LÄS MER
9. On transport theory of correlated mesoscopic systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis is about the theory of quantum transport through low dimensional correlated systems. Correlated systems are interacting many-particle systems where collective effects predominate over the individual properties of particles whereof they consist. Single particle approach to correlated systems would be essentially wrong. LÄS MER
10. Theoretical Developments for the Real-Time Description and Control of Nanoscale Systems
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we focus on improvements of the description of the electron-electron correlation effects in nonequilibrium nanosystems. We mainly focus on developments of two nonequilibrium methods, namely the formalism of Nonequilibrium Green’s Function and Time Dependent Density Functional Theory and we explore the possibility to improve existing approximations in these theories.
