  1. 16. Alcohol Use and Stress in University Freshmen - A Comparative Intervention Study of Two Universities

    Författare :Claes Andersson; Kliniskt Centrum för Hälsofrämjande Vård; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; university dropout; stress measurement; comparative design; intervention; stress; university freshmen students; alcohol;

    Sammanfattning : Starting university is associated with major academic, personal and social opportunities. For many people, university entrance is also associated with increased stress and alcohol consumption. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Fish coping with stress-Physiology and behaviour in salmonids with focus on stress coping styles, rearing conditions and smolt migration

    Författare :Malin Rosengren; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Behaviour; Conservation; Cortisol; Intestinal barrier function; Metabolism; Salmonids; Stress; Stress coping styles;

    Sammanfattning : When animals are reared for conservational releases it is paramount to avoid reducing genetic and phenotypic variation over time. Therefore, an understanding of how behavioural and physiological traits affect the performance of an individual both within the captive and the wild environment is required. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Stress Effects on Solute Transport in Fractured rocks

    Författare :Zhihong Zhao; Lanru Jing; Ivars Neretnieks; Auli Niemi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fractured rocks; Solute transport; Stress effects; Coupled stress-flow-transport processes; Analytical solution; Particle mechanics model; Fracture surface damage; Discrete element method; Particle tracking method;

    Sammanfattning : The effect of in-situ or redistributed stress on solute transport in fractured rocks is one of the major concerns for many subsurface engineering problems. However, it remains poorly understood due to the difficulties in experiments and numerical modeling. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Roles of Arginine-Vasotocin and Corticotropin-Releasing Hormone in Stress Responses and Agonistic Behaviour of Rainbow Trout

    Författare :Tobias Backström; Svante Winberg; Lynne Sneddon; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Zoophysiology; arginine-vasotocin AVT ; corticotropin releasing hormone CRH ; stress; stress coping; behaviour; rainbow trout; Zoofysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The neuropeptides arginine-vasotocin (AVT) and corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) are involved in the hypothalamic-pituitary-interrenal (HPI) axis. During stress, the HPI axis is activated and cortisol is released into the blood. In addition to their role in the HPI axis, AVT and CRH also have behavioural effects. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Effects of management by objectives : studies of Swedish upper secondary schools and the Influence of role stress and self-efficacy on school leaders

    Författare :Erik Lindberg; Kerstin Nilsson; Elisabet Ljunggren; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Management by objectives; Goal commitment; performance; role stress; self-efficacy; Business studies; Företagsekonomi; företagsekonomi; Business Studies;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this dissertation is to explore the impacts of Management by Objectives (MBO) on upper secondary school education in Sweden. In particular the goal is to increase our understanding of how the implementation of MBO affects the schools and the role of head teachers. LÄS MER
