  1. 6. Quantitative Electron Microscopy Studies of Metal Nanoparticle Catalysts: Nanostructure, Support Interaction and Ageing Effects

    Författare :Torben Nilsson Pingel; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; CO oxidation; strain; ageing; specimen preparation; scanning electron microscopy SEM ; FIB SEM; supported nanoparticle catalyst; transmission electron microscopy TEM ; particle size distribution PSD ; platinum;

    Sammanfattning : Heterogeneous catalysis plays a major role in modern society, for example in chemical production, sustainable energy production and emission control technologies. Metal nanoparticles (NPs) supported on oxide materials are frequent catalytic systems in this field. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Finite Element and Neuroimaging Techniques toImprove Decision-Making in Clinical Neuroscience

    Författare :Xiaogai Li; Svein Kleiven; Hans von Holst; Bernhard A Schrefler; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Traumatic brain injury; Intracranial Pressure; Brain edema; Gravitational force; Finite Element Model; Poroelastic parameter; Decompressive craniotomy; Image registration; Water content; Strain level; Diffusion Weighted Imaging;

    Sammanfattning : Our brain, perhaps the most sophisticated and mysterious part of the human body, to some extent, determines who we are. However, it’s a vulnerable organ. When subjected to an impact, such as a traffic accident or sport, it may lead to traumatic brain injury (TBI) which can have devastating effects for those who suffer the injury. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Low-frequency noise characterization, evaluation and modeling of advanced Si- and SiGe-based CMOS transistors

    Författare :Martin von Haartman; Mikael Östling; Cor Claeys; KTH; []

    Sammanfattning : A wide variety of novel complementary-metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) devices that are strong contenders for future high-speed and low-noise RF circuits have been evaluated by means of static electrical measurements and low-frequency noise characterizations in this thesis. These novel field-effect transistors (FETs) include (i) compressively strained SiGe channel pMOSFETs, (ii) tensile strained Si nMOSFETs, (iii) MOSFETs with high-k gate dielectrics, (iv) metal gate and (v) silicon-on-insulator (SOI) devices. 4. 9. Att fokusera på "varandet" i en värld av görande. Stöd till personalen i ett palliativt förhållningssätt vid vård- och omsorgsboende för äldre

    Författare :Ingela Beck; Institutionen för hälsovetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Palliative care approach; Support; Intervention; Nurse assistants; Leadership; Residential care facilities; job satisfaction; strain; quality of care; person centered care; caring climate;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to study nurse assistants’ experience of palliative care and to investigate how an intervention with a focus on a palliative care approach in residential care facilities influenced the nurse assistants and their work situation. The thesis is based on two qualitative and two quantitative studies, focusing on nurse assistants working at residential care facilities for older people. LÄS MER
