  1. 1. Improving biomarker assessment in breast pathology

    Författare :Stephanie Robertson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The accuracy of prognostic and therapy-predictive biomarker assessment in breast tumours is crucial for management and therapy decision in patients with breast cancer. In this thesis, biomarkers used in clinical practice with emphasise on Ki67 and HER2 were studied using several methods including immunocytochemistry, in situ hybridisation, gene expression assays and digital image analysis, with the overall aim to improve routine biomarker evaluation and clarify the prognostic potential in early breast cancer. 2. 2. Laser welding and laser heat treatment of high strength steels

    Författare :Stephanie Robertson; Alexander Kaplan; Jan Frostevarg; Antti Salminen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Laser welding; heat treatment; high strength steel; Snapshot method; microstructure; Produktionsutveckling; Manufacturing Systems Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Laser materials processing, including thermal treatment and laser welding has been undergoing continuous growth in the manufacturing industry for decades. A laser beam offers high precision and energy transfer, capable of various processing. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Microstructural manipulation by laser irradiation of prepared samples : The ’Snapshot Method’

    Författare :Stephanie Robertson; Alexander F.H. Kaplan; Fredrik Sikström; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Produktionsutveckling; Manufacturing Systems Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Various metallurgical microstructures and their formation are studied in this thesis by using a laser beam to melt a variety of materials with different chemical compositions over a range of thermal cycles. The laser beam was used conventionally in a narrow gap multi-layer weld, used for welding large depths with filler wire additions, as well as a non-traditional simulated welding approach labelled here as the Snapshot method.
