  1. 21. Measurement Based Channel Characterization and Modeling for Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communications

    Författare :Taimoor Abbas; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vehicle-to-vehicle communications; IEEE 802.11p; Channel measurements; Channel modeling; propagation modeling; MIMO; intelligent transportation systems;

    Sammanfattning : Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication is a challenging but fast growing technology that has potential to enhance traffic safety and efficiency. It can also provide environmental benefits in terms of reduced fuel consumption. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Long-term development, modeling and management of nutrient loading to inland and coastal waters

    Författare :Amelie Darracq; Georgia Destouni; Andrea Rinaldo; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Nutrients; catchments; environmental management; climate change; population and lifestyle development; subsurface-surface water interactions; long-term simulations; nutrient retention; modeling; hydrology; transport processes; biogeochemistry; scaling; transport and reaction rates; Physical Geography; geografi med naturgeografisk inriktning;

    Sammanfattning : Environmental and water system protection and restoration require accurate knowledge and quantification of waterborne pollutant transport, retention-release and transformation processes taking place in the subsurface, river, lake and sea water systems, and at the interfaces between these systems. This thesis investigates the importance of spatial model resolution for such quantification and the possible long-term nutrient load development under different human perturbations and nutrient source management scenarios in the Swedish Norrström drainage basin, based on simulations with the GIS-based dynamic nutrient transport-attenuation model POLFLOW. 3. 23. Spatial Mixture Models with Applications in Medical Imaging and Spatial Point Processes

    Författare :Anders Hildeman; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Non-Gaussian; Bayesian level set inversion; Point processes; Substitute CT; Finite mixture models; Spatial statistics; Gaussian fields; Non-Gaussian;

    Sammanfattning : Finite mixture models have proven to be a great tool for both modeling non-standard probability distributions and for classification problems (using the latent variable interpretation). In this thesis we are building spatial models by incorporating spatially dependent categorical latent random fields in a hierarchical manner similar to that of finite mixture models. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Water Quality in Swedish Lakes and Watercourses : Modeling the Intra-Annual Variability

    Författare :Julia Hytteborn; Kevin H. Bishop; Andreas C. Bryhn; Johan Temnerud; Bergström Ann-Kristin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Total organic carbon; cyanobacteria; seasonality; water quality modeling; climate change; surface water; Earth Science with specialization in Environmental Analysis; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot miljöanalys;

    Sammanfattning : Water quality is of great importance for ecosystems and society. This thesis characterized and modeled the variation in several key constituents of Swedish surface waters, with particular consideration given to intra-annual variability and sensitivity to climate change. 5. 25. Particle generation for geometallurgical process modeling

    Författare :Pierre-Henri Koch; Jan Rosenkranz; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Geometallurgy; ore texture; texture classification; breakage simulation; process modeling; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Sammanfattning : A geometallurgical model is the combination of a spatial model representing an ore deposit and a process model representing the comminution and concentration steps in beneficiation. The process model itself usually consists of several unit models. LÄS MER
