16. Molecularly Imprinted Solid-Phase Extraction and Liquid Chromatography for Biological Samples
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the use of molecularly imprinted polymers as selective sorbents for solid-phase extraction (MISPE). The MISPE methods developed were mainly intended for use with biological samples, such as human urine and blood plasma. LÄS MER
17. Molecular filtration : the study of adsorbents
Sammanfattning : Adsorbent materials for gas purification have been studied and developed for application in many areas. It is known that a single adsorbent may not adequately control multiple contaminants. Therefore, the development of adsorbent materials has accelerated over the past two decades, and is today an area attracting a lot of attention. LÄS MER
18. Microextraction by packed sorbent of drugs and peptides in biological fluids
Sammanfattning : Sample preparation as the first step in an analytical procedure has an important role, particularly in bioanalysis, because of the complexity of biological samples (blood plasma and urine). Biological matrix such as plasma and blood contains proteins, organic and inorganic salts, acids, bases and various organic compounds with similar chemistry to the analytes of interest. LÄS MER
19. Outline of Titanium (IV) based H2PO4 Ion-exchangers: Kinetics and Sorption models
Sammanfattning : Decontamination of industrially polluted waters has been enclosed in REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) since 2007, when it entered into force in the European Union, which emphasized the need to search for more effective sorbents. Many studies on inorganic ion-exchangers have been carried out due to the scientific interest towards their high mechanical and thermal stabilities, high resistance to oxidation and high sorption capacity regarding transition and radioactive metal ions. 20. Novel clean-up, concentration and laser desorption/ionization strategies for mass spectrometry
Sammanfattning : Despite valuable advantages of mass spectrometry (MS) techniques they still have drawbacks that need to be overcome, notably their sensitivity to various kinds of interfering substances and associated difficulties involved in detecting signals from analytes present in trace quantities. Thus, high quality analytical data could be acquired by improving sample pre-treatment techniques and/or ionization methods to increase ionization yields and/or avoid the generation of unwanted ions.
