1. Synthesis of Non-Natural Aromatic Amino Acids Derivatives Solvent-free reactions-Versatile building blocks-Galectin inhibitors
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with three topics concerning the synthesis of non-natural also known as unnatural amino acid derivatives. In the first, solvent-free reaction conditions for the Heck reaction were developed that were superior to previous conditions because the reaction time could be reduced and the work-up procedure simplified. 2. Multicomponent Catalytic Reactions : Theoretical and Experimental Studies
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, Density Functional Theory (DFT) methods have been applied to study the mechanisms of three different multicomponent organic reactions. Also, a new synthetic procedure for the preparation of quinolinium salts is presented, and its mechanism also studied by DFT calculations. LÄS MER
3. Chemo-Enzymatic Epoxidation of Unsaturated Fatty Acids
Sammanfattning : Epoxy fatty acids are useful molecules and find a number of applications e.g. as PVC plasticisers and stabilisers, additives in polyurethane production, reactive diluents in paints, corrosion protection agents, etc. LÄS MER
4. LIPASES AND PHOSPHOLIPASES IN PHOSPHOLIPID SYNTHESIS
Sammanfattning : The synthesis of phospholipids with defined fatty acid and polar head composition catalysed by lipases and phospholipases was investigated. Lipases from Rhizopus arrhizus and Candida antarctica were used for the direct acylation of DL-a-glycerophosphate and L-a-glycerophosphatidylcholine, with different fatty acids. LÄS MER
5. Lipase-Mediated Syntheses of Trimethylolpropane-Based Biolubricant and Cyclic Carbonate
Sammanfattning : Abstract Biocatalysis is considered as benign and efficient alternative to chemical catalysis for organic syntheses. Lipases are the most versatile biological catalysts implemented so far with great potential for production of different chemicals and materials in non-conventional reaction media. LÄS MER
