  3. 3. Compact diode-pumped solid-state lasers

    Författare :Stefan Spiekermann; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :visible lasers; UV lasers; solid-state lasers;

    Sammanfattning : Compact diode-pumped solid-state lasers (DPSSL) arecontinuously replacing traditional gas lasers as well asenabling completely new technology. However, compact and costefficient designs are required to satisfy end-user demands. Theaim of this thesis was therefore to investigate novel laserdesigns for given applications considering these demands. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Microstructure Formation During Solidification and Solid State Transformation in Compacted Graphite Iron

    Författare :Mathias König; Magnus Wessén; Ingvar L. Svensson; Jorge Sikora; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :Solidification; Solid state transformation; Modelling; Mechanical properties; Cast iron; CGI; Microstructure formation; Cast Iron; Microstructure Formation; Mechanical Properties; Solid State Transformation;

    Sammanfattning : Compacted graphite iron (CGI) is rapidly becoming an attractive alternative material for engine components in the automotive industry, replacing lamellar graphite iron (LGI) in applications where high mechanical strength is desired. However, the gain in mechanical strength comes with a cost; thermal conductivity, process control and machining are three areas that are more challenging for CGI. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Solid state characterisation and compaction behaviour of pharmaceutical materials

    Författare :Christina Gustafsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmacy; Solid-state; Tablet; Thermal analysis; Cellulose; Spectroscopy; NMR; NIR; FT-IR; Crystallinity; MVDA; FARMACI; PHARMACY; FARMACI; farmaceutisk farmakologi; Pharmaceutical Pharmacology;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, factors important in tableting operations and for tablet properties have been studied and characterised by different spectroscopic techniques as well as by some more conventionally used particle characterisation techniques. The spectroscopic techniques solid-state NMR, FT-IR and NIR spectroscopy, proved to be valuable tools in the estimation of particle and tablet properties, offering both specificity and sensitivity in the measurements.
