  1. 1. Diffusion of dynamic innovations : A case study of residential solar PV systems

    Författare :Emrah Karakaya; Cali Nuur; Antonio Hidalgo; Anna Bergek; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Dynamic innovations; diffusion; residential solar; photovoltaics; time; space; Industriell ekonomi och organisation; Industrial Engineering and Management;

    Sammanfattning : In the literature on diffusion of innovations, it is widely known that the characteristics and socio-environmental settings of adopters do evolve in space and time. What about innovations themselves? During the diffusion process, don’t some innovations continuously alter in space and time? If so, how does the dynamic character of an innovation influence the diffusion process? In previous research, it has been often assumed that innovations do not continuously alter or get modified when diffusing from a source to potential adopters. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : In the transition towards a sustainable energy system, building mounted solar photovoltaics (PV) have unique benefits; they require no additional land and the energy is generated directly at load centers. Within residential buildings, multi-family homes (MFH) are particularly interesting because of the economies of scale and their greater potential for emissions reductions. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Solar Variability Assessment and Grid Integration : Methodology Development and Case Studies

    Författare :David Lingfors; Joakim Widén; Uwe Zimmermann; Eva Wäckelgård; Tobias Boström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Solar variability; Photovoltaics; Grid integration; GIS; Distributed generation; Engineering Science; Teknisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : During the 21st century there has been a tremendous increase in grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) capacity globally, due to falling prices and introduction of economic incentives. PV systems are in most cases small-scale, installed on residential dwellings, which means that the power production is widely distributed and close to the end-user of electricity. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Solar Variability Assessment in the Built Environment : Model Development and Application to Grid Integration

    Författare :David Lingfors; Joakim Widén; Jan Kleissl; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Solar Variability; Photovoltaics; Grid Integration; Distributed Generation; LiDAR; GIS; Engineering Science; Teknisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : During the 21st century there has been a rapid increase in grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) capacity globally, due to falling system component prices and introduction of various economic incentives. To a large extent, PV systems are installed on buildings, which means they are widely distributed and located close to the power consumer, in contrast to conventional power plants. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Residential solar photovoltaics deployment: barriers and drivers in space

    Författare :Alvar Palm; Internationella miljöinstitutet; []
    Nyckelord :Solar photovoltaics PV ; renewable energy; sustainability transitions; technology deployment; diffusion of innovations; barriers; drivers; space; technological innovation system TIS ; technology adoption; business model; peer effects;

    Sammanfattning : In order to support a sustainability transition in the energy sector, actors need knowledge about barriers and drivers to the deployment of clean energy technologies. Solar photovoltaics (PV) is a renewable energy technology that is technically mature and on the verge of becoming economically competitive in numerous regions around the world. LÄS MER
