  1. 1. Towards Systemic Governance of Critical Infrastructure Protection : State and Relevance of a Swedish Case

    Författare :Christine Große; Aron Larsson; Olof Björkqvist; Pär M. Olausson; Alexander Fekete; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Systemic Thinking; Infrastructure; Governance; Critical Infrastructure Protection; Complex Systems; Soft Operations Research; design-oriented Information Systems Research; Integrative System Analysis; KISA; STYREL; Multi-level Planning; Adaption; Emergence; Entropy; Systemic Governance;

    Sammanfattning : The protection of infrastructure that is critical to society’s functionality, survival and progression has gained significance for both national security and research because of its large-scale and interdependent nature. Critical infrastructure can be viewed as a complex, socio-technical system-of-systems that imposes extensive requirements on governance efforts to foster critical infrastructure protection (CIP), regardless of whether it involves public organisations, private organisations or both. 2. 2. Strategic Objectives in Complex Planning Environments : Insights from a Swedish Case for Critical Infrastructure Protection

    Författare :Christine Große; Aron Larsson; Olof Björkqvist; Pär M. Olausson; Henrik Tehler; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Systemic Thinking; Soft Operations Research; design-oriented Information Systems Research; Governance; Complex Systems; Critical Infrastructure Protection; Largescale Planning; Multi-level Planning; Strategic Management;

    Sammanfattning : Large-scale and long-term planning imposes extensive requirements on governance efforts regardless of whether it involves public organisations, private organisations, or both. The proportions of such planning entangle many actors and stakeholders as system components within and around a complex system. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Soft Issues of Industry 4.0 : A study on human-machine interactions

    Författare :Prasanna Illankoon; Phillip Tretten; Uday Kumar; John Abeysekara; Sarbjeet Singh; Jayantha Prasanna Liyanage; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Drift och underhållsteknik; Operation and Maintenance;

    Sammanfattning : Autonomous industrial operations are becoming the norm due to advancements in technology, which has led to both advantages and disadvantages for the organisations involved. The use of intelligent systems has resulted in higher system reliability, a higher quality product, and reduced risk for human error. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Miniaturized Hard Waveguides in Multifunction Array Antennas

    Författare :Malcolm Ng Mou Kehn; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; interlaced arrays; Floquet theorem; reflector antennas; focal plane array; multifunction antennas; miniaturized waveguides; multilayer structures; spectral domain technique; periodic structures; aperture reuse; method of moments; soft and hard surfaces; array antennas;

    Sammanfattning : Recent advances in technologies of wireless communications systems have led to an increasing desire for several antennas performing diverse functions at different frequencies to be integrated into a common radiating aperture. This gives rise to the so-called multifunction antenna, which affords the saving of scarce premium real estate and can alleviate problems arising from excessive antenna protrusions in aspects such as aerodynamics, aesthetics, and stealth capability in military applications. 5. 5. Designing for Safe Maritime Navigation. Studying Control Processes for Bridge Teams

    Författare :Victor Fernando Placido da Conceicao; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; safety; Socio-technical Systems; navigation control; joint cognitive systems; e-Navigation; human factors; pilotage;

    Sammanfattning : Several technological advances have been seen the maritime domain to achieve higher operational efficiency and to address the generally recognised causes of most maritime accidents. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) endorses the use of best available technology to “drive continuous improvement and innovation in the facilitation of maritime traffic” in line with the goal of sustainable development.
