18. Psychiatric disability in the community : Surveying the social landscape in the post-deinstitutional era
Sammanfattning : This dissertation presents a discussion of life in the community for people experiencing psychiatric disabilities in the post-deinstitutional era, with the goal of developing knowledge that can suggest a focus for planning more relevant services and supports. While evaluations of deinsitutionalization have focused on possibilities for providing community, rather than hospital-based services for these individuals, the intention was to support a participatory life in the community, a life defined by much more than just care and treatment. Sammanfattning : Forskning visar att djur kan ge socialt och emotionellt stöd till barn och ungdomar med autism men få studier har undersökt husdjurens betydelse för barnens utveckling eller betydelsen av att inkludera natur och djur i en längre samspelsbehandling. 20. Wastelands of difference? Urban nature and more-than-human difference in Berlin and Gothenburg
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores more-than-human entanglements of contemporary urban environments in order to develop a rearticulation of urban landscapes as spaces decidedly beyond the exclusively human. Taking its cue from the question “How do we live with urban difference today?,” such spaces, the thesis argues, emerge through, as well as change with, a variety of socio-ecological entwinements.
