  1. 1. On Pressure Regulation of the Middle Ear

    Författare :Marianne Brattmo; allergi och livskvalitet Laryngoesofagologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Chronic otitis media; Sniffing behaviour; Tubal opening; gas diffusion; Meniere s disease; Attic cholesteatoma; Chronic central perforation; Tympanic membrane; Continuous measurement; Middle ear pressure; Eustachian tube;

    Sammanfattning : The middle ear (ME) pressure is regulated by gas diffusion over the ME mucosa and pressure equalizations via the Eustachian tube (ET). Disturbance in the regulation of ME pressure is believed to contribute to the development of chronic ear diseases. LÄS MER

  2. 2. A tale of tails : prevention of tail biting by early detection and straw management

    Författare :Torun Wallgren; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : -Pigs in their natural environment spend the majority of their time exploring their surroundings through rooting, sniffing and chewing to find food and resting places. Rooting under commercial conditions is often fully dependent on the provision of rooting material. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Middle Ear Pressure; A New Method for Continuous Direct Measurements

    Författare :Bo Tideholm; allergi och livskvalitet Laryngoesofagologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Otorhinolaryngology; man; physiology; sleep; posture; pressure; patulous Eustachian tube; middle ear; Ear; audiology; auditive system and speech; Otorinolaryngologi; audiologi; hörsel- och talorganen;

    Sammanfattning : Disturbances in the pressure homeostasis of the middle ear (ME) system cause a pressure gradient across the tympanic membrane lessen the effectiveness of sound transmission and may be associated to development of chronic ME disease. An equipment for continuous direct pressure measurements was developed and was found to be accurate, base-line stabile and portable. LÄS MER
