22. Remote sensing phenology at European northern latitudes - From ground spectral towers to satellites
Sammanfattning : Plant phenology exerts major influences on carbon, water, and energy exchanges between atmosphere and ecosystems, provides feedbacks to climate, and affects ecosystem functioning and services. Great efforts have been spent in studying plant phenology over the past decades, but there are still large uncertainties and disputations in phenology estimation, trends, and its climate sensitivities. 23. Mechanistic-Empirical Modeling of Permanent Deformation in Asphalt Concrete Layers
Sammanfattning : Three mechanistic-empirical permanent deformation models were evaluated under Swedish conditions with respect to traffic, climate and materials using accelerated pavement testing and long-term pavement performance studies. The mechanistic-empirical pavement design guide (M E PDG), the incremental-recursive mechanistic-empirical CalME model (CalME), and the PErmanent Deformation of asphalt concrete layer for ROads (PEDRO) model generally showed both useful features and limitations. 24. Optical spectroscopy of turbid media: time-domain measurements and accelerated Monte Carlo modelling
Sammanfattning : Optical spectroscopy is a versatile and powerful tool to probe translucent materials. In this work, the focus is on characterization of strongly scattering (turbid) materials by means of time-of-flight spectroscopy (TOFS). LÄS MER
25. Delays and Timetabling for Passenger Trains
Sammanfattning : Travel by train has increased steadily in Sweden the last 30 years. The pace has been about two to three percent per year, and we now have twice as many passengers. With growing awareness of the changing climate, the pace is increasing further. A problem that affects both passengers and businesses in Sweden is train delays. LÄS MER
