  1. 6. Transport Modes in Nanotube-Vesicle Networks

    Författare :Michal Tokarz; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; diffusion; confinement; liposome; biomimetic; micromanipulation; Vesicle; electrophoresis; network; nanotube; transport;

    Sammanfattning : Methods for construction of surface-immobilized microscopic networks of phospholipid bilayer vesicles (3-50 µm in diameter) interconnected by lipid tubes (30-150 nm in radius), have previously been developed. The networks have controlled connectivity and are well-defined with regard to container size, content, angle between nanotube extensions, and nanotube length. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Regulation of Microvascular Blood Flow : a clinical and experimental study based on laser Doppler perfusion imaging

    Författare :Helena Golster; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Local blood flow reflexes in the foot skin of healthy controls and in young diabetic patients with or without nerve dysfunction have been studied using laser Doppler perfusion imaging (LDPI). A neurophysiological follow-up study on nerve dysfunction is presented as a complerhent to the work on blood flow regulation in the young diabetics. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Modelling transport of non-spherical particles in laminar flow

    Författare :Elise Holmstedt; Sofie Högberg; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Strömningslära; Fluid Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : A model has been developed that can be used to predict the transport of non-spherical particles in the nano- and micro scale range for different applications. This may be the flow in the lungs or flow taking place during composites manufacturing, but the model can be applied to many applications where the particle Stokes and Reynolds numbers are small. 4. 9. Laser induced effects in carbon nanotubes : implications for Raman characterization of functionalized systems

    Författare :David Olevik; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysik; Fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have attracted attention over the past decade because of their outstanding mechanical and electronic properties. These tiny tubular shells made of carbon atoms can be metallic or semiconducting and while having diameters of only about one nanometer (10-9 m), they can be up to centimeters in length, making them quasi one-dimensional (molecular wires). 5. 10. Packed-Fluidized Bed Reactors – Batch Experiments and Fundamental Modeling with Random Metal Packings

    Författare :Nasrin Nemati; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bubbling fluidized bed; Heat transfer; Confined fluidization; Chemical-looping combustion; Mass transfer; Random packing; Packed-fluidized bed;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this work is to investigate the effect of random packings on heat and mass transfer phenomena, when applied in bubbling fluidized beds. For this purpose, first, the heat transfer coefficient to a horizontal tube submerged in a fluidized bed containing various types of random packings was investigated. LÄS MER
