    Författare :Sofia Edlund; Pontus Aspenström; Maréne Landström; Tommy Andersson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell and molecular biology; TGF-beta; cytoskeleton; GTPases; mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 3; TGF-beta-activated kinase 1; Apoptosis; Smad7; beta-catenin; p38 MAPK; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) is a member of a large superfamily of cytokines which participate in many different types of cellular processes, such as growth inhibition, cell migration, differentiation, cell adhesion, wound healing and immunosuppression. Alterations of TGF-β superfamily signalling results in several different disorders, including bone disease, vascular disease and cancer. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Exoenzyme S of Pseudomonas aeruginosa : cellular targets and interaction with 14-3-3

    Författare :Lubna Yasmin; Bengt Hallberg; Joan Olson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; ExoS; ADP-ribosylation; 14-3-3 protein; Pseudomonas aeruginosa; Small GTPases; RAS; RAP; Pathology; Patologi;

    Sammanfattning : Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an opportunistic pathogen that is a serious problem for immuno-compromised patients. Toxins such as exoenzyme (Exo) S, ExoT, ExoY and ExoU are secreted and translocated from the bacteria into the eukaryotic cell via the bacterial encoded type III secretion system. LÄS MER

  3. 3. ß2 integrin-induced signal transduction events in human neutrophils

    Författare :Fredrik Melander; Malmö Experimentell patologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Inflammation; integrins; signal transduction; Rho GTPases; kinases; c-Cbl; General pathology; patologisk anatomi; pathological anatomy; Patologi allmän ; neutrophils;

    Sammanfattning : Inflammation is a localized protective response in vascularized tissues and can be induced by microbial infection or cell and tissue injury. Polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN) are the most common white blood cells and are recognized as major cellular mediators of acute inflammation. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Small molecule inhibitors of type III secretion and their effect on chlamydia development

    Författare :Sandra Muschiol; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Chlamydiae are obligate intracellular pathogens that cause a variety of diseases with clinical and public health importance. Like many Gram-negative bacteria, Chlamydiae employ a type III secretion (T3S) system for invasion and establishment of a protected intracellular niche for successful replication and survival within host cells. 5. 5. Cytoskeletal Regulation During Embryonic Development in Drosophila melanogaster

    Författare :Mojgan Padash; Udo Häckers grupp Utvecklingsbiologi i invertebrater; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Naturvetenskap; Natural science; DRhoGEF2; Actin cytoskeleton; Rho GTPase;

    Sammanfattning : The development of multicellular organisms is associated with extensive rearrangements of cells and tissues. The driving force for these rearrangements is generated by the cell's actin cytoskeleton. During many morphogenetic processes dynamic rearrangement of the actin cytoskeleton is regulated by small GTPases of the Rho-family. LÄS MER
