1. When mathematics teachers focus discussions on slope : Swedish upper secondary teachers in a professional development initiative
Sammanfattning : The shift towards collegiality is a new setting for many teachers. Most teachers work alone, in isolation from their colleagues and collegial collaboration requires organisational structures. LÄS MER
2. Development and improvement of methods for characterization of HPLC stationary phases
Sammanfattning : High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is a widely used tech-nique both for detecting and purifying substances in academy and in the industry. In order to facilitate the use of, and knowledge in HPLC, character-ization of stationary phases is of utmost importance. LÄS MER
3. A GIS-based landscape analysis of dissolved organic carbon in boreal headwater streams
Sammanfattning : In boreal catchments, stream water chemistry is influenced and controlled by several landscape factors. The influence of spatially distributed variables is in turn dependent on the hydrological scale. LÄS MER
4. Rate as the relation of changes in two quantities : A variation theory perspective of learning rate of change
Sammanfattning : This thesis comprises three original papers about learning rate of change in school mathematics. The overall aim of the thesis is to contribute with knowledge in this particular area of research. Within this aim, each of the original papers contribute with its own perspective. LÄS MER
5. Undrained shear strength in clay slopes - Influence of stress conditions. A model and field test study
Sammanfattning : To counteract natural hazards such as landslides, current methods for evaluation of soil properties as a mean for determining the safety level of natural slopes need to be refined. The empirical relationships used for estimation of the undrained shear strength from piezocone and field vane test are based on the stress conditions valid for horizontal ground and normally consolidated or slightly overconsolidated soil.
