11. On costochondral grafts replacing mandibular condyles in juvenile chronic arthritis. A clinical, histological and experimental study
Sammanfattning : In children with juvenile chronic arthritis (JCA), disturbances of mandibular growth and function may result in involvement of the temporomandibular joints (TMJs). The aim of this thesis was to study the stomatognathic system in JCA children and long-term effects on facial growth of treatment comprising replacement of arthritic mandibular condyles with autogenous costochondral grafts (CCGs) during growth. Sammanfattning : Metastases to bone are observed in around 80% of prostate cancer patients and represent the most critical complication of advanced prostate cancer. 14. Medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw : occurence, risk factors, pathogenesis & treatment
Sammanfattning : The antiresorptive drugs bisphosphonates and denosumab arewidely used to preserve bone strength by inhibiting osteoclast mediatedbone resorption. High dose intravenous bisphosphonatesand high dose denosumab are mainly used to treat skeletal relatedevents in patients with metastatic bone disease such as metastaticbreast cancer and metastatic prostate cancer or in patients withmultiple myeloma. 15. Anterior shoulder dislocation : Aspects of alternative methods of treatment and MR imaging
Sammanfattning : Sixty patients (16-30 years) with traumatic primary anterior shoulder dislocation were allocated to arthroscopic lavage or non-operative treatment. The arthroscopic lavage group had a lower recurrence rate, better functional outcome and anterior stability after one year. LÄS MER
