  1. 1. Silicic Magma Genesis in Basalt-dominated Oceanic Settings : Examples from Iceland and the Canary Islands

    Författare :Sylvia E. Berg; Valentin Troll; Steffi Burchardt; Frances Deegan; Morten Riishuus; Nicholas Arndt; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Silicic magmatism; Iceland; magma-crust interaction; proto-continental crust; early Earth; zircon geochronology and geochemistry; oxygen isotopes; 2011-2012 El Hierro eruption; crustal xenoliths; 3D X-ray μ-CT; volatiles; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Earth Science with specialization in Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Sammanfattning : The origin of silicic magma in basalt-dominated oceanic settings is fundamental to our understanding of magmatic processes and formation of the earliest continental crust. Particularly significant is magma-crust interaction that can modify the composition of magma and the dynamics of volcanism. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Evolution of a silicic magma reservoir in the upper crust : Reyðarártindur pluton, Southeast Iceland

    Författare :Emma Rhodes; Steffi Burchardt; Abigail Barker; Charles F. Parker; Alexander Cruden; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; magma; magma emplacement; magma reservoir; floor subsidence; piecemeal subsidence; granite; pluton; cap-rock; magma mingling; magma plumbing systems; volcanic and igneous plumbing systems; eruption; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Earth Science with specialization in Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Sammanfattning : Field observations of extinct and exposed magma reservoirs shed light on processes operating in the roots of presently active volcanoes. The Reyðarártindur pluton, Southeast Iceland is an example of a fossil shallow magma reservoir that fed eruptions. LÄS MER

  3. 3. New styles of intrusive related copper-gold deposits in northern Sweden

    Författare :Therese Bejgarn; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Sammanfattning : The Älgträsk Au-deposit is situated in the Jörn Granitoid Complex (JGC) immediately north of the Skellefte VMS district, northern Sweden. The Skellefte VMS district comprise a complex volcanosedimentary sequence, which has been interpreted as the remnant of a Palaeoproterozoic island arc or continental margin arc situated behind a northward dipping subduction zone.
