16. Determination and use of radiobiological response parameters in radiation therapy optimization
Sammanfattning : Optimization of radiation therapy is critically dependent on the use of patient related information. For this reason, radiobiological models describing the dependence of tumour and normal tissue responses on the irradiated volume and the dose-time-fractionation schedule should be introduced. LÄS MER
17. Forward Jet Production in ep-collisions at HERA
Sammanfattning : The production of forward jets has been measured in deep inelastic $ep$ collisions at HERA. The results are presented in terms of single differential cross sections as a function of the Bjorken scaling variable ($x_{Bj}$) and as triple differential cross sections $d^3 sigma / dx_{Bj}dQ^2dp_{t,jet}^2$, where $Q^2$ is the four momentum transfer squared and $p_{t,jet}^2$ is the squared transverse momentum of the forward jet. 18. Studies on performance limitations in CMOS DACs
Sammanfattning : The digital-to-analog converter (DAC) is a bottle neck in broadband communication systems. High update rates are required in combination with high accuracy. LÄS MER
19. On Specifying and Estimating Economic Growth as a Spatial Process : Convergence, Inequality, and Migration
Sammanfattning : This thesis includes three self-contained papers. The first paper considers the effect of geographically dependent observations on cross-sectional growth convergence and proposes a way of decomposing the level of technology taking into account geographical variation in growth rates. 20. Multispectral Remote Sensing and Deep Learning for Wildfire Detection
Sammanfattning : Remote sensing data has great potential for wildfire detection and monitoring with enhanced spatial resolution and temporal coverage. Earth Observation satellites have been employed to systematically monitor fire activity over large regions in two ways: (i) to detect the location of actively burning spots (during the fire event), and (ii) to map the spatial extent of the burned scars (during or after the event).
