1. A Study on the Correlation between Ladle Glaze and Non-Metallic Inclusions in the Ladle Treatment
Sammanfattning : In the present thesis, the correlation between ladle glaze and non-metallic inclusions in the ladle treatment was studied. A number of industrial trials with full scale ladle and laboratory works were performed to investigate the inclusions in the ladle treatment. LÄS MER
2. Thermodynamic Studies of the Fe-Pt System and “FeO”-Containing Slags for Application Towards Ladle Refining
Sammanfattning : In the present work, the thermodynamic activites of ironoxide, denoted as "FeO" in the slag systems Al2O3-"FeO", CaO-"FeO", "FeO"-SiO2, Al2O3-"FeO"-SiO2, CaO-"FeO"-SiO2and "FeO"-MgO-SiO2were investigated by employing the gasequilibration technique at steelmaking temperatures. Thestrategy was to expose the molten slag mixtures kept inplatinum crucibles for an oxygen potential, determined by aCO/CO2-ratio. LÄS MER
3. Some aspects of non-metallic inclusions during vacuum degassing in ladle treatment : with emphasize on liquid CaO-Al2O3 inclusions
Sammanfattning : The present thesis was to study non-metallic inclusions during vacuum degassing in ladle treatment. Emphasize was mostly given to liquid CaO-Al2O3 inclusions. A series of industrial experiments were carried out at Uddeholm Tooling AB, Hagfors, Sweden. To gain an insight into the industrial findings, laboratory investigations were also performed. LÄS MER
4. A Study of Propane and Propene Ammoxidation over the Mo-V-Nb-Te-Oxide System
Sammanfattning : The ammoxidation of propane is commonly regarded as being the future route for producing acrylonitrile, and the Mo-V-Nb-Te-oxide system studied here has thus far been seen as the most promising candidate for achieving this. Yields of up to 62% have been presented very elegantly in the patent literature. LÄS MER
5. Investigation of vanadium-containing oxide systems : CALPHAD and experiments
Sammanfattning : Fundamental studies on thermodynamic properties of vanadium-containing oxides systems are essential to understand practical vanadium metallurgical process. The CALPHAD technique is here applied to the thermodynamic modelling of the V-O, Ca-V-O and Ti-V-O systems. The compound energy formalism is used for all the solution phases. LÄS MER
