  1. 1. A Study on Vanadium Extraction from Fe-V-P Melts Derived from Primary and Secondary Sources

    Författare :Mikael Lindvall; Du Sichen; Christiaan Pistorius; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; vanadium; V; V2O5; V2O3; ferrovanadium; vanadiferous; titaniferous; titanomagnetites; magnetite; spinel; slag; experimental; free; spinel; converter; LD; BOF; solubility; equilibrium; selective; oxidation; hibonite; karelianite; Al2O3; CaO; SiO2; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Vanadium extraction methods were developed for iron-vanadium-phosphorus (Fe-V-P) melts derived from processing of V-bearing titanomagnetites and steel slags. Studies on phase relationships of V slags were carried out to provide important understanding of the extraction processes. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Thermodynamic modelling and assessment of some alumino-silicate systems

    Författare :Huahai Mao; Bo Sundman; Gunnar Eriksson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thermodynamic modelling; thermodynamic assessment; alumino-silicate system; slag; oxide system; CALPHAD; phase diagram; phase equilibrium; Thermo-Calc; compound energy formalism; ionic two sub-lattice liquid model; AlO2-1 species; Al2O3; CaO; MgO; SiO2; Y2O3; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Alumino-silicate systems are of great interest for materials scientists and geochemists. Thermodynamic knowledge of these systems is useful in steel and ceramic industries, and for understanding geochemical processes. A popular and efficient approach used to obtain a self-consistent thermodynamic dataset is called CALPHAD. LÄS MER

  3. 3. A Study of Propane and Propene Ammoxidation over the Mo-V-Nb-Te-Oxide System

    Författare :Johan Holmberg; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi; TEM; TPR; XPS; XRD; XANES; Chemical technology and engineering; SEM; FTIR; BET; TiO2; SiO2; Al2O3; supports; substitution; synthesis; Mo-V-Nb-Te-Ox catalysts; acrylonitrile; propene; Ammoxidation; propane; symbiosis;

    Sammanfattning : The ammoxidation of propane is commonly regarded as being the future route for producing acrylonitrile, and the Mo-V-Nb-Te-oxide system studied here has thus far been seen as the most promising candidate for achieving this. Yields of up to 62% have been presented very elegantly in the patent literature. LÄS MER

  4. 4. CVD on Iron Powder - Using Fluidising Bed Techniques

    Författare :Lars Nilsson; Industriell Produktion; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; aluminium oxide; alumina; chemical vapour deposition; eddy current losses; FBR; iron; fluidising bed reactor; powder; SiO2; SMC; TiO2; Al2O3; soft ma etic com sites; CVD;

    Sammanfattning : Today's electrical energy conversion devices, such as motors, transformers, inductors and generators, are based on laminated magnetic cores for reduction of eddy current losses, imposing a two-dimensional magnetic flux distribution. Using a three-dimensional magnetic flux distribution while maintaining low magnetic losses requires new approaches to magnetic core materials. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Some aspects of non-metallic inclusions during vacuum degassing in ladle treatment : with emphasize on liquid CaO-Al2O3 inclusions

    Författare :Young Jo Kang; Du Sichen; Takahiro Miki; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; non-metallic inclusions; ladle refining; vacuum degassing; ladle glaze; spinel; SiO2 activity; agglomeration; cold model; open-eye; inclusion removal; Metallurgical process engineering; Metallurgisk processteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis was to study non-metallic inclusions during vacuum degassing in ladle treatment. Emphasize was mostly given to liquid CaO-Al2O3 inclusions. A series of industrial experiments were carried out at Uddeholm Tooling AB, Hagfors, Sweden. To gain an insight into the industrial findings, laboratory investigations were also performed. LÄS MER
