  1. 1. Rigid Body Ship Dynamics

    Författare :Martin Alexandersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Inverse dynamics; Extended Kalman filter; Ship digital twin; Ship manoeuvring; RTS smoother; Multicollinearity; System identification;

    Sammanfattning : It is common today that operational data is recorded onboard ships within the Internet of Ships (IoS) paradigm. This enables the possibility to build ship digital twins as digital copies of the real ships. Predicting the ship’s motions with ship dynamics could be an important sub-component of these ship digital twins. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Fully Nonlinear Unsteady Three-Dimensional Boundary Element Method for Ship Motions in Waves

    Författare :Martin Kjellberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; BEM; potential flow; MEL; ship motions; free surface; wave resistance; fully nonlinear; time-dependent;

    Sammanfattning : The prediction of the behavior of ships in a seaway has been an important topic in ship design since the beginning of modern naval architecture. In recent years, computer simulations using numerical methods based on mathematical models of the ship hydrodynamics problem has become a valuable tool for researchers and engineers working in this field. 3. 3. Numerical Investigation of Ship Responses in Calm Water and Regular Head Waves

    Författare :Mohsen Irannezhad; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Nominal wake; Resistance; CFD; RANS; FNPF; Regular head waves; Ship motions;

    Sammanfattning : In order to design fuel efficient ships and install right machinery onboard, ship designers need to know the interaction effects between hull, propeller and appendages in realistic operating conditions. Neglecting the interaction effects may result in under/over-prediction of the required power. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : In order to design fuel-efficient ships and install compatible propulsion systems, ship and propeller designers need to know the potential effects of the interactions between different ship components, e.g., hull, propeller, appendages and machinery, on the ship performance at sea. 5. 5. Towards 6 Degrees of Freedom Seakeeping Simulations Using a Fully Nonlinear Potential Flow Method

    Författare :Francesco Coslovich; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Sammanfattning : In recent years, the International Maritime Organization introduced a new set of rules in order to try to reduce emissions of ships by improving their efficiency. To assess the energy efficiency of a new ship, the regulations require to estimate the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI), which represent the amount of Carbon Dioxide produced per mile in relation to the amount of cargo carried, and verify that it is smaller than a prescribed value.
