    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we first aimed to determine whether there may be herpes virus deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) in the aqueous humour of asymptomatic individuals (paper II). Presence of herpes simplex virus (HSV), varicella zoster virus (VZV), cytomegalovirus (CMV) and Epstein Barr virus (EBV) in aqueous humour was measured by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in patients eligible for cataract surgery.
