    Författare :Lena Axelsson; Birgitta Klang; Stefan Jacobson; Sissel Andreassen Gleissman; Carina Lundh Hagelin; Britt-Marie Ternestedt; Sophiahemmet Högskola; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Close relative; Death; Dying; End of life; End-stage renal disease; haemodialysis; Palliative care; Phenomenological-hermeneutics; Qualitative content analysis; Retrospective interviews; Serial interviews; close relative;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis is to generate  understanding and knowledge a bout the experiences of  patients living with haemodialysis, and their close relati ves, near the end of life. In studies I and II we  conducted a series of 31 qualitative interviews over a period of 12 months with 8 severely ill patients  (aged 66–87) treated with haemodialysis. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Mobility in Public Environments and Use of Public Transport : exploring the situation for people with acquired cognitive functional limitations

    Författare :Jenny Rosenkvist; Trafik och väg; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Accessibility; usability; travel-chain; focus group interviews; expert interviews; semistructured interviews; user perspective; acquired cognitive disabilities;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to explore and gain deeper insight into and understanding of mobility in public environments for people with acquired cognitive functional limitations (target group of this thesis) and of reasons why some of them do not use public transport. Using an explorative approach, the target group’s mobility was firstly discussed by experts in focus group interviews. LÄS MER

  3. 3. A design-build contractor risk assessment framework for new technical solutions in the construction industry

    Författare :Charlotte Svensson Tengberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Moisture safety; Hygrothermal performance; risk assessment; Design–build contractor; Serial failure; New technical solutions;

    Sammanfattning : Design–build contractors are often challenged to introduce new technical solutions into construction projects. However, they might not have methods and resources required to avoid serial failure, which is defined as multiple cases of failure when a technical solution fails to sustain the performance requirements. 4. 4. Challenges in Global Multi-Variant Serial Production - A Study of Manufacturing Engineering Processes

    Författare :Pierre Johansson; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; product and production complexity; product variety; product and process standardization; Global production networks;

    Sammanfattning : Global manufacturing companies have hard times to manage their global production networks as dispersion in their networks increases. Such dispersion is caused by the increasing level of product variety and more parameters to control as the networks grow. Handling product variety becomes more difficult as products become more complex and integrated. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Human-centred design for maritime technology and organizational change

    Författare :Nicole Almeida Costa; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; participatory ergonomics; organizational change; technology acceptance; digitalization; systems theory; e-Navigation; human-centred design;

    Sammanfattning : Context: The shipping industry is undergoing a transitional phase at different levels, including IMO’s e-Navigation initiative, and with this comes the need to use a human-centred design (HCD) approach to avoid accidents linked to automation issues, and to cater for the maintenance of safety and efficiency within this global transport system. Aims: The aim of this thesis is to investigate the value and challenges in HCD practice and how ergonomics/human factors (E/HF) principles can be introduced, as well as what gaps and opportunities exist in current standard operations and technologies in navigation that can potentially be followed upon by future e-Navigation developments, not only from a technological perspective but also regulatory, operational etc. LÄS MER
