6. Automatic Synthesis of Sequential Control Schemes
Sammanfattning : Of all hard- and software developed for industrial control purposes, the majority is devoted to sequential, or binary valued, control and only a minor part to classical linear control. Typically, the sequential parts of the controller are invoked during startup and shut-down to bring the system into its normal operating region and into some safe standby region, respectively. 7. A Sequential Control Language for Industrial Automation
Sammanfattning : Current market trends for industrial automation are the need for customizable production, shorter time to market, and powerful global competitive pressure. Based on these trends two challenges have been identified: 1) flexible production systems and 2) integration and utilization of devices and software. LÄS MER
8. Structure-Exploiting Numerical Algorithms for Optimal Control
Sammanfattning : Numerical algorithms for efficiently solving optimal control problems are important for commonly used advanced control strategies, such as model predictive control (MPC), but can also be useful for advanced estimation techniques, such as moving horizon estimation (MHE). In MPC, the control input is computed by solving a constrained finite-time optimal control (CFTOC) problem on-line, and in MHE the estimated states are obtained by solving an optimization problem that often can be formulated as a CFTOC problem. 10. Learning to Control the Cloud
Sammanfattning : With the growth of the cloud industry in recent years, the energy consumption of the underlying infrastructure is a major concern. The need for energy efficient resource management and control in the cloud becomes increasingly important as one part of the solution, where the other is to reduce the energy consumption of the hardware itself.
