16. Microscale Tools for Sample Preparation, Separation and Detection of Neuropeptides
Sammanfattning : The analysis of low abundant biological molecules is often challenging due to their chemical properties, low concentration and limited sample volumes. Neuropeptides are one group of molecules that fits these criteria. Neuropeptides also play an important role in biological functions, which makes them extra interesting to analyze. LÄS MER
17. Acoustic separation of submicron particles in gaseous flows
Sammanfattning : The separation of submicron particles suspended in gaseous flows is a problem of great importance and is the subject of sustained research efforts. This is motivated by several challenges presented by modern science and technology requiring high separation efficiencies for submicron particles. LÄS MER
18. Zwitterionic Separation Materials for Liquid Chromatography and Capillary Electrophoresis : Synthesis, Characterization and Application for Inorganic Ion and Biomolecule Separations
Sammanfattning : Liquid Chromatography (LC) and Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) are modern analytical techniques that play very important roles in many areas of modern science such as life science, biotechnology, biomedicine, environmental studies, and development of pharmaceutics. Even though these two techniques have existed and been subjected to studies for several decades, the developments of new separation materials for them are still very important till now in order to meet the different new demands for improvement from other disciplines in science. 19. On microchannel acoustophoresis - Experimental considerations and life science applications
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents experimental studies of microchannel acoustophoresis, a technique for manipulation of microscopic objects in suspension by means of acoustic radiation forces induced by ultrasonic standing wave fields. By arranging an acoustic resonance across the width of a microchannel, the path of individual cells or microparticles can be deflected orthogonally to the fluid flow. LÄS MER
20. On acoustic particle and cell manipulation in microfluidic systems
Sammanfattning : The combination of laminar flows in microfabricated channels and acoustic forces induced in ultrasonic standing wave fields offers new possibilities for advanced particle and cell manipulation in lab-on-a-chip applications as well as in relatively high throughput applications. Acoustic particle manipulation systems can be used e.g. LÄS MER
