21. Modeling and Control of the Open Plate Reactor
Sammanfattning : The focus of this thesis is on modeling and control of the Open Plate Reactor (OPR), a new heat exchange reactor being developed by Alfa Laval AB. It combines intensified mixing with enhanced heat transfer capacity into one operation. LÄS MER
22. High-Tc SQUIDs for magnetophysiology - development of a magnetometer system and measurements of evoked fields from hippocampal neurons in vitro
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns development of a system based on a high-transition-temperature superconducting quantum interference device (high-Tc SQUID) magnetometer. The system has been designed and used for magnetic field recordings from brain slices, i.e. magnetophysiology. LÄS MER
23. Model Based Vehicle Level Diagnosis for Hybrid Electric Vehicles
Sammanfattning : When hybridizing a vehicle, new components are added that need to be monitored due to safety and legislative demands. Diagnostic aspects due to powertrain hybridization are investigated, such as that there are more mode switches in the hybrid powertrain compared to a conventional powertrain, and that there is a freedom in choosing operating points of the components in the powertrain via the overall energy management and still fulfill the driver torque request. 24. Studies of magnetic multi-core nanoparticles for biomedical applications
Sammanfattning : In recent years, there has been growing interest in using magnetic multi-core nanoparticles in biomedical applications, and particularly in bioseparation and biosensing. In this thesis, two computer simulation techniques have been implemented to study the magnetic response of these particles, and a microfluidic platform has been fabricated to manipulate bio-functionalized magnetic particles in suspension for immunoassays. 25. Wood and fibre mechanics related to the thermomechanical pulping process
Sammanfattning : The main objective of this thesis was to improve the understanding of some aspects on wood and fibre mechanics related to conditions in the thermomechanical pulping process. Another objective was to measure the power distribution between the rotating plates in a refiner. LÄS MER
