17. Scanning tunneling microscopy and photoemission studies of Ag films on metal/semiconductor surfaces
Sammanfattning : The research presented in this thesis has been focused on the study of thin Ag films, grown on metal-reconstructed Si(111) and Ge(111) surfaces. The films have been grown at room temperature, and the morphologiesand electronic structures of the films have been investigated using scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy (STM/STS), low-energy electron diffraction (LEED) and angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy(ARPES). 18. In-situ Study of the Growth, Composition and Morphology of III-V Semiconductor Nanowires
Sammanfattning : It is widely known that nanoparticle seeded growth of III-V semiconductor nanowires often occurs via the vapor-liquid-solid mechanism. However, conventional growth of nanowires is carried out in closed systems, where mostof the details and dynamics of the growth are impossible to follow. LÄS MER
19. Growth and optical properties of III-V semiconductor nanowires: : Studies relevant for solar cells
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with epitaxial growth and optical properties of semiconductor nanowires with implications and insights about materials for solar cells. The chapters leading up to the papers give a broader background and an introduction to the field and include nanowires and their synthesis, semiconductor properties, solar cell operational principles, light interaction with a nanowire array, and optical characterization of such arrays. 20. Adventures of III-V Semiconductor Surfaces
Sammanfattning : Tailoring the surface composition and morphology of materials to enable new electronic devices is important for a wide range of applications such as quantum computing or spintronics. A fundamental understanding of the changes induced in the surface during different process steps can help to establish new synthesis routes as well as devices. LÄS MER
