21. Semiconductor Nanoelectronic Devices Based on Ballistic and Quantum Effects
Sammanfattning : As current silicon-based microelectronic devices and circuits are approaching their fundamental limits, the research field of nanoelectronics is emerging worldwide. With this background, the present thesis focuses on semiconductor nanoelectronic devices based on ballistic and quantum effects. The main material studied was a modulation doped In0. LÄS MER
22. Bilayer Light-Emitting Electrochemical Cells for Signage and Lighting Applications
Sammanfattning : Artificial light surrounds us in a manifold of shapes. It is mainly utilized for illumination, but also for graphical communication of complex and evolving messages and information, among other things. It can be generated in different ways with incandescent lamps and fluorescent tubes constituting two common examples. LÄS MER
23. Confinement Sensitivity in Quantum Dot Spin Relaxation
Sammanfattning : Quantum dots, also known as artificial atoms, are created by tightly confining electrons, and thereby quantizing their energies. They are important components in the emerging fields of nanotechnology where their potential uses vary from dyes to quantum computing qubits. Interesting properties to investigate are e.g. LÄS MER
24. Vertical III-V Semiconductor Devices
Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on three projects that deal with vertical III-V semiconductor devices. The work spans over basic research as well as more applied aspects of III-V semiconductor technology. All projects have in common that they rely on advanced epitaxial growth to form the starting material for device fabrication. LÄS MER
25. Optical Characterization of III-Nitride and II-V Semiconductor Nanowires
Sammanfattning : The optical properties of III-V semiconductor nanowires for optical devices have been investigated by photoluminescence spectroscopy, cathodoluminescence spectroscopy and cathodoluminescence imaging. The material systems that have been studied include the nitrides (InN, GaN and AlN) and ternaries, and a few common phosphides and arsenides. LÄS MER
