1. Semantic Web Queries over Scientific Data
Sammanfattning : Semantic Web and Linked Open Data provide a potential platform for interoperability of scientific data, offering a flexible model for providing machine-readable and queryable metadata. However, RDF and SPARQL gained limited adoption within the scientific community, mainly due to the lack of support for managing massive numeric data, along with certain other important features – such as extensibility with user-defined functions, query modularity, and integration with existing environments and workflows. 2. På AI-teknikens axlar : om kunskapssociologin och stark artificiell intelligens
Sammanfattning : This dissertation is concerned with Sociology’s stance in the debate on Strong Artificial Intelligence, i.e. such AI that is able to shape new knowledge without human interference. There is a need for sociologists to realize the difference between two approaches to constructing AI systems: Symbolic AI (or Classic AI) and Distributed AI – DAI. LÄS MER

4. Perspectives on Modeling and Simulation of Urban Systems with Multiple Actors and Subsystems
Sammanfattning : Cities are the spaces of the interaction between social, physical, political, and economic entities, which makes planning and intervening in such systems difficult. Urban systems are complex adaptive systems in that their behaviours are often the result of the interaction of their components. LÄS MER
5. Obstacle Problems for Green Potentials and for Parabolic Quasiminima
Sammanfattning : The thesis consists of two parts. In the first part pure potential theoretic methods are employed to study the obstacle problem connected with a uniformly elliptic second-order differential operator in divergence form. Regular points of the obstacles are characterized by the classical Wiener criterion. LÄS MER
