  1. 1. Energy systems studied of biogas : Generation aspects of renewable vehicle fuels in the transport system

    Författare :Mimmi Magnusson; Per Alvfors; Umberto Desideri; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Anaerobic digestion; biogas; biomass; energy system; first-generation biofuels; renewable vehicle fuels; second-generation biofuels; supply- and demand-side measures; third-generation biofuels; transport system;

    Sammanfattning : The transport sector is seen as particularly problematic when concerns about climate change and dependency on fossil energy are discussed. Because of this, bioenergy is strongly promoted for use in the transport sector, both on a European level and nationally in Sweden. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Conversion processes for biofuel production

    Författare :Jerry Luis Solis; Yohannes Kiros; Mohammad Taherzadeh; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Second-generation biofuels; biodiesel; heterogeneous catalysts; non-edible oils; ethanol; residual biomass; native yeast strains.; Andra generationens biobränslen; biodiesel; heterogena katalysatorer; oätliga oljor; etanol; rester av biomassa; naturliga jäststammar; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik; Energy Technology; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Despite the global positive impacts of soybean-, maize- and sugarcane-based (first-generation) liquid biofuels, several drawbacks pertaining to increased use of agricultural land, causing deforestation in some countries and extensive practice of fertilizers have been observed. As a result, developing advanced (second- and third-generation) liquid biofuels have been identified as better alternatives and are considered to be of great importance in the future. LÄS MER

  3. 3. System studies of forest-based biomass gasification

    Författare :Elisabeth Wetterlund; Mats Söderström; Magnus Karlsson; Simon Harvey; Pål Börjesson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biomass gasification; second-generation biofuels; global CO2 emissions; energy system optimisation;

    Sammanfattning : Bioenergy will play an important role in reaching the EU targets for renewable energy. Sweden, with abundant forest resources and a well-established forest industry, has a key position regarding modern biomass use. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Black Liquor Gasification-Based Biorefineries – Determining Factors for Economic Performance and CO2 Emission Balances

    Författare :Karin Pettersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; biorefineries; system expansion; second generation biofuels; black liquor gasification; kraft pulp and paper mill; global CO2 emissions; heat integration; energy market scenarios;

    Sammanfattning : Biorefineries constitute an attractive future development option for the pulp and paper industry, allowing mills to produce not only pulp or paper but also other value-added products. Black liquor gasification (BLG) is currently being developed as an alternative technology for energy and chemical recovery in kraft pulp and paper mills. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Catalytic conversion of biomass-derived synthesis gas to liquid fuels

    Författare :Rodrigo Suárez París; Magali Boutonnet; Agustín Martínez Feliu; KTH; []
